Ethem Tanrıver was born in 1978 in the Ürgüp district of Nevşehir. He completed his primary and secondary education in Ürgüp and his high school education in Kayseri.

Tanrıver began his professional career as a Board Member at Kaptaş A.Ş. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors at Kaleblokbims Hafif Yapı Elemanları A.Ş., Politek-Terpa Elektronik Cihazlar Pazarlama San. Tic. A.Ş., and Erciyes Alçı Maden Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş.

Actively involved in production, R&D, investment, and export-oriented activities, Tanrıver leads the strategic development processes of the companies under his management and makes significant contributions to the industrial and export sectors. He also holds chairmanship and executive positions in various civil society organizations, particularly within the business community.

Elected to the Board of Directors of the Eastern Anatolian Exporters' Association in 2012, Tanrıver served as Chairman of the Board of DAİB from 2018 to 2026. Since April 2026, he has continued to serve as Vice Chairman of the Board of DAİB. Since June 2026, Ethem Tanrıver has also been serving as an Audit Board Member of the Turkish Exporters Assembly.

Ethem Tanrıver speaks English, is married, and has three children.
