Ahmet Fikret Kileci, leading the delegation, recalled that efforts have been underway for a long time under the leadership of the President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to develop commercial and diplomatic relations with Saudi Arabia. Kileci noted that the determination demonstrated by Chairman Erdoğan and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman has also enlightened exporters. He stated:

Furthermore, our Ministry of Commerce included 27 international fairs organized in Saudi Arabia this year in the scope of support. Within the coordination of our Ministry, four sectoral trade delegations and three specially qualified procurement delegations were also organized to Saudi Arabia. As a result of the coordination of our Ministry and the diligent efforts of TİM, our exports to Saudi Arabia for the first eight months exceeded $1.6 billion, showing a fourfold increase compared to the same period last year. To further advance this momentum, we organized another delegation to Riyadh from September 11th to 14th, under the coordination of our Ministry, with the participation of our Director General of Exports Mehmet Ali Kılıçkaya. During the fruitful meetings, we discussed with Saudi officials how we can carry the trade volume between the two countries to even greater heights. Witnessing the emergence of new collaborations between businesspeople of the two countries during these productive meetings has greatly pleased us."
