Turkish Exporters Conduct Over 1,100 B2B Meetings Across Three Continents
The general trade delegations organized by the Türkiye Exporters Assembly (TİM) brought Turkish companies together with international buyers across a broad geography spanning from Albania to South Africa.
In coordination with the Ministry of Trade and with contributions from relevant exporters' associations, the Türkiye Exporters Assembly (TİM) held four separate “General Trade Delegation” programs between May 5–16 in Albania, Tunisia, the United States, and South Africa. Turkish exporters operating in diverse sectors such as chemicals, iron and steel, ready-to-wear, furniture, mining, carpets, food, and cement engaged in bilateral business meetings with companies and sector representatives in these countries, seizing opportunities to explore new export markets. As part of these programs, Turkish companies held over 1,100 bilateral business meetings across three continents.
A Strong Start in Albania with Over 500 Meetings
The trade delegation in Tirana, the capital of Albania, was organized in collaboration with the Türkiye Exporters Assembly (TİM) and the Eastern Anatolia Exporters' Association (DAİB). Led by DAİB Chairman Ethem Tanrıver, the delegation comprised representatives from nearly 20 Turkish exporting companies. The program commenced with opening remarks delivered by DAİB Chairman Ethem Tanrıver, Republic of Türkiye's Ambassador to Tirana Tayyar Kağan Atay, and Albania's Minister of Interior Ervin Hoxha. Following the opening ceremony, over 500 bilateral meetings were conducted between Turkish company representatives and Albanian businesspeople.
Over 120 Bilateral Meetings in South Africa
Organized by the Türkiye Exporters Assembly (TİM) and the Istanbul Mineral and Metals Exporters' Associations (İMMİB), the South Africa General Trade Delegation took place between May 12–16, 2025. Headed by TİM Board Member Başaran Bayrak, the delegation was also joined by Republic of Türkiye's Ambassador to Pretoria Kezban Nilvana Darama Yıldırımgeç. Nearly 20 Turkish company representatives participating in the delegation conducted over 120 bilateral business meetings with South African business counterparts.
Strengthening Commercial Ties in Tunisia
The trade delegation to Tunisia was led by Nuri Gürcan, Board Member of the Istanbul Exporters' Association of Furniture, Paper and Forestry Products. Türkiye's Ambassador to Tunisia Ahmet Misbah Demircan also delivered an opening speech during the program. Approximately 15 representatives of Turkish exporting firms engaged in more than 130 bilateral business meetings with Tunisian businesspeople. These meetings laid a significant groundwork for further enhancing the trade volume between Türkiye and Tunisia.
Sectoral Promotion Drive for Textiles in the U.S.
The U.S. General Trade Delegation, organized by the Türkiye Exporters Assembly (TİM) and the Istanbul Textile and Apparel Exporters' Associations (İTKİB), was held in Los Angeles under the leadership of TİM Vice Chairman Ahmet Güleç. The delegation included around 30 Turkish exporters, primarily from the textile sector. As part of the program, which was also attended by Ministry of Trade's Director General for Exports Mehmet Ali Kılıçkaya, over 400 bilateral business meetings were conducted with American businesspeople.
