Türkiye's Exports Reached 24.9 Billion Dollars in June

President of the TİM Mustafa Gültepe: We achieved a significant increase of 21.8 percent in June. Our exports in the first six months rose to 136 billion dollars, while our exports over the last 12 months reached 278 billion dollars. We are up by 3.6 percent in six-month exports and by 4.1 percent in 12-month exports.

Exports, which declined by nearly 10 percent in May due to the holiday breaks, recovered morale to some extent with a double-digit increase in June. Türkiye's exports in June rose by 21.8 percent, reaching 24.9 billion dollars. In 2026, exports in the first six months amounted to 136 billion dollars, while exports over the last 12 months approached 278 billion dollars.

May export figures were announced in İstanbul by the Minister of Trade, Prof. Dr. Ömer Bolat, and Mustafa Gültepe, President of the Türkiye Exporters Assembly (TİM).

President of the TİM Mustafa Gültepe said that, with the June figures, the export outlook for the first six months had also become clear. Gültepe continued as follows:

The automotive sector ranked first

“According to the General Trade System (GTS) records, we achieved exports worth 24.9 billion dollars in June. We are up by 21.8 percent compared to the same month of 2025. In the sectoral ranking, automotive maintained its leadership with 3.8 billion dollars. Automotive was followed by chemicals with 3.3 billion dollars, steel with 1 billion 750 million dollars, electrical and electronics with 1 billion 666 million dollars and our ready-to-wear and apparel sector with 1.4 billion dollars. According to TİM data, 59 of our provinces increased their exports last month. In June, 915 of our companies exported for the first time. These companies contributed 103 million dollars to exports. After a long interval, parity had a negative impact on our exports. For the first time in exactly 14 months, we incurred a parity-driven loss of 11.4 million dollars.”

Exports to Gulf countries increased by 41 percent in June

Mustafa Gültepe said that the countries to which the highest exports were made were Germany, the United States, Italy, the United Kingdom and Spain, respectively. Stating that there had been a marked increase in exports to the Gulf Region as hopes for peace strengthened, Gültepe said, “In June, our exports to the countries of the region increased by 41 percent to 2 billion 641 million dollars. We anticipate that, should lasting peace be secured, a much more positive picture will emerge in the second half of the year.”

“A strategy through which we can regain our competitiveness is needed”

Commenting also on current developments, Gültepe said they had left June behind at an intense pace, with strong solidarity and developments that inspired pride. Recalling that they held the TİM General Assembly and the Champions of Export Award Ceremony on June 26 with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Gültepe said, “Our President heralded that day that the daily limit for rediscount credits had been raised to 5 billion liras. I would like once again to extend my gratitude to our President. The increase in the rediscount limit is, undoubtedly, of great importance for our export family. However, as I also underlined at the award ceremony, we need new strategies and new decisions through which we will regain our competitiveness. Therefore, different steps that will meet this need must be taken without delay.”

“We must take the steps that will enable us to achieve double-digit increases in exports”

Stating that he had the honour of being elected Chairman of TİM for a second term at the General Assembly with the favour of the delegates, Gültepe continued his remarks as follows:

“I extend my heartfelt thanks to every member of our export family for the trust placed in me. This trust carries great significance for us. We are aware of the importance of the responsibility we have undertaken. The support of our export family will continue to be our greatest source of motivation in the new term. We had closed each of the first four years with records. Yet breaking records alone is not enough. Just as we did this month, we must make the moves that will bring about double-digit increases. Because we know that the rules of competition in global trade are changing. Therefore, we must renew ourselves at the same pace. In the period ahead, we will focus on projects that will increase the added value of exports, enhance the competitiveness of our companies, facilitate our access to new markets and further strengthen the Türkiye brand on a global scale. In brief, we will continue working toward the goal of elevating Türkiye among the top 10 countries in exports.”

Gültepe added that, within this scope, TİM and exporters' associations carried out 9 trade delegations, participated in 32 fairs and conducted 4 Ur-Ge activities in June, and that they would organise delegation programmes to the United Kingdom and Uganda this month.
