New Era in TİM-Focused InoSuit Starts on September 1st
Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) held the launch meeting of the 13th period of the Focused InoSuit Program with the participation of exporter companies and mentors.
Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM), which is the umbrella organization of more than 100 thousand exporters with 61 exporters' associations and 27 sectors, continues to work to contribute to the development and transformation of companies and to ensure that they take part in global competition. In this context, the “Focused InoSuit Program September 2022 Information Sharing and Preliminary Meeting” was held before the 13th phase of the Focused InoSuit Program, which Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) has been carrying out for six years to develop Türkiye's innovation ecosystem, which will start on September 1, 2022. The meeting, which took place at the TİM Istanbul Foreign Trade Complex Conference Hall, was attended by exporter companies and mentors from different cities of Türkiye.
At the meeting, which started with the opening speech of TİM Secretary General Bilal Bedir, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Edin Güçlü Sözer, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mihriban Coşkun Arslan, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Serkan Altuntaş and Dr. Sibel Sain made a presentation on “Challenges and Solutions Encountered in Innovation Management”. Following the presentation, a panel titled “Pre-Competitive Inter-Company Innovation Collaborations” was held under the moderation of Dr. Merih Pasin and Dr. Mehmet Aydın, Academic Coordinators of the InoSuit Program. After the panel, the program continued with company and mentor introductions. The program, which lasted throughout the day, ended with the presentation on “InoSuit Program Financing Processes and Internal Communication Methods” held by TİM Strategy, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Branch and with general information about the Focused InoSuit Program.
TİM Secretary General Bilal Bedir: We have achieved very good results so far with the Focused InoSuit Program
TİM Secretary General Bilal Bedir, who made the opening speech of the meeting, stated that they brought together companies and mentors from all over Türkiye with the Focused InoSuit Program and that they have achieved very good outputs with this program so far. TİM Secretary General Bilal Bedir stated that they will continue to bring together companies and mentors from Adana to İzmir, from Antalya to Sakarya in the new period.
TİM Secretary General Bilal Bedir emphasized that they observed that innovation projects were completed successfully and the number of patents, R&D, and design centers increased and stated that these achievements increased their belief and motivation for the new period.
612 companies from 52 different cities applied to the Focused InoSuit Program
With the Focused InoSuit Program carried out by Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) with the support of its affiliated exporters' associations, companies all over Türkiye are given mentorship in the field of corporate innovation. To date, 612 companies from 52 different cities have applied to the Focused InoSuit Program. In addition, 1,045 mentor applications were received from 144 universities in 63 different cities. In the program, which has been continuing since 2016, 12 semesters have started so far and 9 semesters have been completed. With the 9th term, 129 companies in 30 different cities and 60 mentors from 38 universities in 18 different cities completed the program. A total of 25,520 hours of mentoring services were provided to 163 companies that signed contracts.
25 new mentors from 65 companies and 18 universities have applied for the 13th term of the Focused InoSuit Program, which will start on September 1st. As a result of the interviews with the companies and mentor candidates, a total of 26 companies were matched within the scope of “the September 2022 Period”, including 2 companies in the InoSuit Preparation lane, 6 companies in the InoSuit General lane, 17 companies in the InoSuit Added Value Oriented track, and 1 company in the InoSuit Export Champions lane.
It is aimed to develop Türkiye's innovation ecosystem
With the Focused InoSuit Program, which has been implemented by Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) for companies to receive mentoring support under their innovation competence, it is aimed to increase innovation management competence sustainably, create and strengthen the innovation management infrastructure, and design and implement corporate innovation systems that are suitable for each institution's own goals, structure, and needs.
With the Focused InoSuit Program, which has been implemented by Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) to enable companies to receive mentoring support in line with their innovation competency; it is aimed to increase innovation management competency sustainably, establish and strengthen the innovation management infrastructure, and design and implement corporate innovation systems suitable for each institution's own goals, structure, and needs. For this purpose, the Focused InoSuit Program was designed as 4 different lanes as General, Preparation, Added Value Oriented, and Export Champions. The program is carried out 2 semesters a year, March and September.
Innovation ecosystem formed in Anatolian cities
Within the scope of the InoSuit program, which prioritizes the establishment of an innovation ecosystem in Türkiye, innovation-oriented mentors from all over Türkiye were brought together at the experience-sharing meetings. Thanks to this system, participation from Anatolia increased, and in some Anatolian cities such as Tokat innovation ecosystem was observed to be formed. It has been observed that many innovative ideas and innovation projects have been realized in companies that have completed the InoSuit Program, and it has been determined that these projects contribute to the financial volumes and turnovers of the companies. In addition, InoSuit program, it was observed that the number of patents, R&D, and design centers increased in companies.
