Through the TİM WINGS Project, Women Entrepreneurs Provided with 94.5 Million TL in Financing
Recalling that they initiated the TİM WINGS Project one year ago on International Women's Day, March 8, Mustafa Gültepe, Chairman of TİM, stated, “In our journey launched under the slogan 'Strong Woman, Strong Export, Strong Türkiye,' we collaborated with TSE to establish the TSE-K 645 Women Entrepreneur Certification Criteria. Within one year, 29 of our companies have become eligible to receive the certification.”
The Türkiye Exporters Assembly (TİM) continues to strengthen women entrepreneurs' financing capacities through the TİM WINGS Project, first announced to the public on International Women's Day, March 8, last year. Within the scope of the project, women entrepreneurs received affordable financing support amounting to 94.5 million Turkish lira in a single year.
TİM Chairman Mustafa Gültepe emphasized that societies where women do not assume equal responsibilities with men across all aspects of life have no chance of advancing in the global race. Underlining their desire for women in Türkiye to be involved in the entrepreneurial ecosystem from production to export, Gültepe continued:
“With this very awareness, we launched our TİM WINGS Project a year ago, on International Women's Day, March 8. Embarking on our journey with the motto 'Strong Woman, Strong Export, Strong Türkiye,' we collaborated with TSE to develop the 'TSE-K 645 Women Entrepreneur Certification Criteria.' This criterion aims to provide a clear definition of women entrepreneurship and amplify women's voices within the business world. Within one year, 29 of our companies have qualified to obtain this certification, and we aim to increase this number to 100 by the year's end. Three certified companies have accessed loans totaling 14.1 million Turkish lira from Türk Eximbank. Additionally, İGE A.Ş. provided equity and treasury-backed financing totaling 80.4 million Turkish lira to 11 certified companies. Consequently, the total financing volume reached 94.5 million Turkish lira in one year. Since the inception of the project, the number of banks providing access to İGE collateral support has increased from four to eight, thereby enabling more women entrepreneurs to obtain financing under favorable conditions.”
"For the first time in TİM's history, we initiated a Women-focused Project Supporting the Development of International Competitiveness"
Mustafa Gültepe indicated that they aim to empower women entrepreneurs not only through financial aid but also with education and consultancy programs. Noting that they launched a training program in cooperation with Akbank under the motto "Exceeding Borders in Exports," Gültepe concluded his remarks as follows:
“The training sessions we held in Gaziantep, İzmir, Bursa, Ankara, Istanbul, and Antalya attracted more than 600 participants. These trainings enabled our women entrepreneurs to enhance their knowledge and skills, thereby improving their competitiveness in exports. We did not stop there. To strengthen our female exporters in the international arena, for the first time in TİM's history, we initiated a women-focused Project Supporting the Development of International Competitiveness specifically targeting the textile and apparel sectors. With this project, which is supported by the Ministry of Trade, we aim to enhance the global competitiveness of our 29 women exporters through comprehensive assistance, including needs analysis, training and consultancy, international marketing, and promotional activities.”
