New Trade Delegation Destinations: USA and Japan
The Türkiye Exporters Assembly (TİM), in coordination with the Ministry of Trade, organized trade delegations to the United States (Houston) and Japan (Tokyo) from November 11 to 15, 2024.
Continuing its mission to connect Turkish exporters with buyers around the globe through general and sectoral trade delegations, TİM arranged comprehensive trade programs covering all sectors in Houston, Texas, USA, and Tokyo, Japan, in collaboration with the Mediterranean Exporters Associations. Both delegations featured exporters from diverse sectors, including automotive, textiles, chemicals, iron and steel, furniture, electronics, mining, and machinery.
Over 200 B2B Meetings Across 10 Sectors in Houston with Turkish and American Business Leaders
Led by TİM Vice Chairman Ahmet Güleç, the Houston delegation opened with participation from 13 Turkish firms representing 10 sectors, and 120 American companies. The opening ceremony was attended by Republic of Türkiye Ambassador to Washington Sedat Önal, Republic of Türkiye Consul General in Houston Ahmet Akıntı, TİM Vice Chairman Ahmet Güleç, Greater Houston Partnership Vice President John Cypher, Texas State Representative Jacey Jetton, and Houston City Council Member Twila Carter. Throughout the day-long event, Turkish firms engaged in over 200 one-on-one meetings with U.S. company representatives. The three-day program concluded with visits to companies and institutions.
Nearly 90 B2B Meetings Conducted by 14 Turkish Export Firms in Tokyo
In Tokyo, the trade delegation organized by TİM and the Mediterranean Exporters Associations featured 14 Turkish exporters from six sectors. The program included remarks by Republic of Türkiye Ambassador to Tokyo Korkut Güngen, AKİB Secretary General Mehmet Ali Erkan, Masazumi Nishizawa from the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI), and Nobutaka Maekawa from the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO). Following the opening speeches, Turkish and Japanese business representatives held nearly 90 bilateral meetings during the B2B sessions.
