Turkish Exporters Made Connections With Their Ethiopian Counterparts
With the coordination of the Republic of Turkiye Ministry of Trade, Türkiye Exporters Assembly and the Black Sea Exporters' Association (KİB) trade delegation was held in Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia, between 20-24 March.
Ethiopia, which is the second most densely populated country on the African continent with a population of approximately 120 million, stands out as one of the fastest growing economies in the world. 23 Turkish exporter company representatives from various sectors, especially construction materials, machinery, textile and food, participated in the program, which was organized to increase exports to Ethiopia.
Within the framework of the program, Addis Ababa Commercial Counselor Taha Alperen Salar made a general informative presentation on Ethiopia to the participating companies.
At the opening ceremony of the bilateral meetings, KIB Coordinator Chairman Hasan Osman Sabır, Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce and Sectors Union President Melaku Ezezew, and the Republic of Türkiye Ambassador to Addis Ababa and Türkiye's Permanent Representative to the African Union Berk Baran addressed the participants.
More than 300 bilateral business meetings were held between 23 Turkish Companies and more than 120 Ethiopian Buyers.
It is evaluated that the Ethiopian General Trade Delegation, which has been concluded with success, will provide significant benefits in increasing exports to Ethiopia, which is an important commercial partner in the African continent.
