TİM's Five Chairmen and Executives Unite at “An Eternal Mark, We Are TİM” Event
At an event bringing together the chairmen and executives who have served Türkiye Exporters Assembly since its inception, TİM Chairman Mustafa Gültepe announced that exports, which stood at $15.3 billion in 1993, are projected to surpass $260 billion this year.
“Our journey in exports will continue with even greater speed and ambition,” Gültepe stated. “In the second century of our Republic, we aim to position Türkiye among the top 10 exporting nations.”
Türkiye Exporters Assembly (TİM) hosted the “An Eternal Mark, We Are TİM” event, bringing together past chairmen Okan Oğuz, Oğuz Satıcı, Mehmet Büyükekşi, and İsmail Gülle, alongside members of the management and audit boards and sectoral councils.
Held at the Foreign Trade Complex, the event was hosted by TİM Chairman Mustafa Gültepe, who reminded attendees that in 1993, the year of TİM's establishment, Türkiye's exports amounted to just $15.3 billion. Highlighting that 2024 is expected to close with over $260 billion in exports and $115 billion in service exports, Gültepe continued:
“Those Who Serve Leave a Mark”
“The remarkable achievements inscribed in golden letters in our export history bear the signature of our esteemed chairmen and their teams. Exporting is not just a commercial activity; it is also a heartfelt endeavor. It means days spent traveling, sleepless nights, and assuming risks and responsibilities when necessary. We have never shied away from making sacrifices to boost our nation's exports and elevate our flag. Because we know that those who serve leave a mark. We owe immense gratitude to all our chairmen, board members, sectoral council members, and general secretaries who have contributed since TİM's establishment. The story we have written together is shaped by steps that leave an indelible mark and illuminate the future. This journey will continue in the second century with even greater speed and ambition. We shape our future with the strength we draw from the past and the confidence instilled by our former chairmen. Just as we reached $255 billion in exports in the 100th year of our Republic, we have entered the second century with even greater aspirations. In this new era, we aim to position Türkiye among the top 10 exporting nations. Together, we will continue to transform our exports into a structure that is more value-added, innovative, and sustainable.”
As a tribute to the evening, Mustafa Gültepe presented plaques to TİM's former chairmen—Okan Oğuz, Oğuz Satıcı, Mehmet Büyükekşi, and İsmail Gülle—as well as to members of the management and audit boards, sectoral councils, and general secretaries. Following the plaque ceremony, awards were presented to members with over a decade of service, TİM's first female member, and recipients of the Intergenerational Export Loyalty Awards. The awards for former TİM chairmen were personally handed out by Chairman Mustafa Gültepe.
