Morocco and Senegal Hold Over 700 Bilateral Business Meetings
Under the coordination of the Ministry of Trade, a general trade delegation from Türkiye was organized to the West African countries of Mauritania and Senegal, in collaboration with the Türkiye Exporters Assembly (TİM) and the General Secretariat of Istanbul Exporters Associations (İİB).
Türkiye Exporters Assembly (TİM) and the General Secretariat of Istanbul Exporters Associations (İİB) organized a general trade delegation to Mauritania and Senegal from December 3 to 8, 2023. The delegation, led by TİM Vice Chairman Ahmet Güleç, included nearly 30 exporting companies from various sectors such as furniture, textiles, chemicals, construction, machinery, and cereals.
More Than 700 Bilateral Business Meetings in Nouakchott and Dakar.
The first stop of the program was the capital of Mauritania, Nouakchott, where the opening speeches were delivered by TİM Vice Chairman Ahmet Güleç, Acting Chargé d'Affaires of the Turkish Embassy in Nouakchott Ahmet Faik Davaz, Chairman of İHBİR Kazım Taycı, and Chairman of the Mauritanian Businessmen Association Muhammet Lafdal Berrak. In this event, attended by nearly 100 representatives from Mauritanian companies, Turkish and Mauritanian firms held more than 300 bilateral business meetings.
After concluding their meetings in Mauritania, the delegation's second destination was Dakar, the capital of Senegal. At the opening of the program, TİM Vice Chairman Ahmet Güleç, Turkish Ambassador to Dakar Hatice Nur Sağman, Chairman of the Dakar Chamber of Commerce Abdoulaye Sow, and Chairman of the Türkiye-Senegal Business Council Momar Diouf addressed the participants, emphasizing the importance of cooperation between the two countries. Following the opening speeches, the program continued with bilateral business meetings. Senegal was represented by nearly 200 companies, and Turkish and Senegalese business representatives held over 400 bilateral business meetings during the program.
