Cem Seven was born in Istanbul on 26 March 1968. He completed his secondary education at Saint-Joseph French High School and earned his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (English) from Bilkent University.

He joined Sanmar Denizcilik Makina ve Tic. A.Ş., one of the world's leading companies in tugboat construction and a provider of tugboat and pilotage services, in 1989 as Operations Manager. After serving in various executive positions within the company, he currently serves as Chairman of the Board.

Between 2013 and 2018, he served as Chairman of Professional Committee No. 47 at the Chamber of Shipping.

He served two consecutive terms as Chairman of the Board of the Turkish Ship, Yacht and Marine Services Exporters' Association (GYHİB) from 2018 to 2022 and 2022 to 2026. He currently continues to serve the Association as a Member of the Board of Directors.

Mr. Seven is married with two children and is fluent in French and English.
