TİM Will Be the Bridge Between the Exporter and the Logistics Sector with One Click

TÜRKİYE LOGISTICS PORTAL COMES INTO SERVICE

TİM CHAIRMAN GÜLLE: WE HAVE DEVELOPED A SOLUTION TO THE GLOBAL LOGISTICS PROBLEM

Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) has launched a logistics portal that will serve as a digital bridge between the exporter and the transportation sector, which flies the Turkish flag all around the world. With turkiyelojistikportali.com, the export family will deliver its products to all around the world with the most suitable tool, at the most convenient time, at the most affordable costs. Thanks to the portal, which aims to bring a national solution to the global logistics problem, exporters will both get new alternatives in product delivery planning and benefit from more affordable prices. The logistics sector, on the other hand, will have the opportunity to use its inert capacity; at the same time, it will have the opportunity to do business with exporters from different sectors. The Türkiye Logistics Portal will also help vehicles carrying exported goods find a return load.

Stating that both the exporter and the logistician who are members of the portal will win, TİM Chairman İsmail Gülle said, "As Turkish Exporters Assembly, we are with our exporters in the logistics processes just as we are with them in the fields of production, marketing, innovation, branding, and design. While we exported 95 million tons in 2010, today we have exceeded 172 million tons. In five years, we estimate that this figure will approach 250 million tons. With the portal, we bring a domestic solution to the global logistics problem. We have finalized our portal after consultations with logistics industry representatives and exporters. Literally, a win-win mechanism will bring into action."

Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM), the only umbrella organization of 100 thousand exporters with 61 exporter associations and 27 sectors, is implementing its projects step by step to achieve the goal of "Türkiye with a Foreign Trade Surplus". Within this framework, TİM has launched the Türkiye Logistics Portal, which will serve as a bridge between exporters and the logistics sector to use the country's logistics opportunities more effectively. The turkiyelojistikportali.com, which was designed in cooperation with industry stakeholders, was introduced to the public with the launch held at TİM Foreign Trade Complex.

To the launch hosted by TİM Chairman İsmail Gülle, TİM Vice President Başaran Bayrak, Service Exporters Association Board Member and Chairman of the Chamber of Shipping Assembly Salih Zeki Çakır, Service Exporters Association Board Member Şahap Çak, Ship Brokers Association President Orhan Semih Dinçel, Coaster Shipowners and Operators Association President Pınar Kalkavan Sesel, International Transportation and Logistics Service Producers Association (UTIKAD) President Ayşem Ulusoy, General Manager of the Association of Ferry Equipment and Agents Muhammet Ali Şeyda attended.

"We will approach 250 million tons in five years"

In his speech at the ceremony, TİM Chairman İsmail Gülle noted the success of the Turkish exporter and said, "In the last 12 months, we have already managed to exceed our annual target by exporting over 212 billion dollars. Now our new goal is to reach $300 billion. There is also a significant increase in tonnage. While we exported 95 million tons in 2010, today we have exceeded 172 million tons. In five years, we estimate that this figure will approach 250 million tons. On the day we wore this sacred uniform and exported it for the first time, we started to run not only for ourselves but for our industry, for our country, for our team. Sometimes we faced challenges, sometimes we shared our achievements with awards. Also, sometimes we have targeted other countries by changing our strategy. We went to every corner of the world without a break. The important thing is to give its the right to this uniform. The export family, despite all the difficulties, has given its right to this uniform. As a result of our successes, we are now in a new league in global trade. This family, this belief, and this effort was deserving this championship. Thank goodness it did. We were not alone in this team. While we were producing, our logistics industry carried our products and brought them together with the world. We have achieved all these achievements together with our biggest stakeholder, the Turkish logistics sector. Our average export distance reached 3 thousand 73 kilometers. All these achievements took place during the pandemic period when global trade was deeply affected."

"Thanks to the portal, we will deliver our products quickly and at the most cost-effective costs"

Emphasizing that the portal aims to bring a domestic solution to the global logistics problem, Gülle continued: “Successive demand and supply shocks in the pandemic have also affected global freight prices. The Baltic dry load index has recently risen to 5650 points from 900 in the pre-pandemic period. Costs for transports to the Far East, U.S., and African continents increased from $2 thousand to $15 thousand. Yes, the problem is global, but the solution is national. Today we are launching the Türkiye Logistics Portal, which will increase the efficiency of our own logistics resources and serve as a digital bridge between our exporters and the logistics sector. We have finalized our portal after consultations with logistics industry representatives and exporters. With our portal, we will deliver our products to all corners of the world with the most appropriate tool, at the most convenient time, at the most affordable costs. Both the exporter and the logistician who are members of our portal will win. Our exporters will both get new alternatives in product delivery planning and benefit from more affordable prices. Our logistics sector will have the opportunity to use its inert capacity while at the same time having the opportunity to do business with exporters from different sectors. So, literally, a win-win mechanism will come true.”

"It will also help vehicles carrying export goods find a return load

Noting that the Türkiye Logistics Portal will also help vehicles carrying export goods find a return load, Gülle said, "We will be able to become members of our portal, which we designed with an extremely simple interface, with our tax identification numbers. Our logistics companies will also be able to register on our platform by submitting authorization documents. The exporter will create an announcement by entering their own load information on the platform.  Our logistics sector will also filter these announcements and find the loads suitable for their lines and programs. As Turkish Exporters Assembly, just as we are with our exporters in the fields of production, marketing, innovation, branding, and design, we are with them in logistics processes. Because a sustainable export contract is the result of all of these processes. And the essence of the contract is the promise. The Turkish exporter keeps his word. Transportation is the most important pillar of this promise. We have signed TİM-THY Air Cargo Protocol, which offers significant advantages to our exporters with Turkish Airlines. Last month, we further expanded the scope of our protocol as a result of demands from our exporters. Today, we are proud to keep our word once again with our Türkiye Logistics Portal."

How does the Türkiye Logistics Portal work?

*Exporters can become members of turkiyelojistikportali.com with their tax identification numbers and company official documents.

*Logistics sector companies can apply for membership by submitting international transportation documents and their company's official documents.

*After the examination of the uploaded documents by TİM authorities, both parties can easily get involved in the system.

*Our exporters who are members of the Türkiye Logistics Portal create a load declaration by entering the information about their cargo that they plan to send abroad. Detailed definitions such as delivery date, weight, size, preferred shipping type, destination information for their cargoes, and detailed questions expected by transportation sector representatives are answered from the first.

*Logistics Industry officials can filter between these load announcements and request to contact the load owners who are in accordance with their lines and programs.

*They can ensure to inform the load announcement owner via e-mail or can view the communication requests on the portal.

*With approved communication requests, logistics industry officials can access the contact information of the load owner companies. Thus, the two industry representatives who come together agree between them, ensure that the load is transported safely.
