TİM CHAIRMAN GÜLLE: FEBRUARY MONTH EXPORTS ALSO GO POSITIVELY
Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) Chairman İsmail Gülle said at the opening of the first virtual jewelry event of Türkiye that January jewelry sector exports received a 2.5 percent share of exports, with an increase of 13.4 percent to $331 million compared to the same month last year. Gülle also addressed the general exports of February in his speech, “In 2020, for the first time in our history, we received over 1 percent of global trade. This uptrend continues in 2021. Starting this year with exports of 15 billion 48 million dollars with an increase of 2.5 percent, we reached the highest January export figure in the history of the Republic. Our export is going very well this month.” he said.
Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM), which is the only umbrella organization of 100 thousand exporters with 61 exporter associations, and 27 sectors, continues to support exporters in the Covid-19 process with its New Generation Trade Diplomacy activities. The export family is making to wave the Turkish flag in more than 226 countries by landing operations in the world with virtual trade delegations.
The Jewelry Exporters Association is carrying out the first virtual jewelry event of Türkiye with the support of the Ministry of Commerce. Speaking at the opening of the event where more than 250 purchasing experts selected from all over the world will meet with the Turkish exporter on the digital platform, TİM Chairman İsmail Gülle said, “Export of Türkiye has made history in the pandemic. We set monthly export records in September and December 2020. We closed the year with exports of $169.5 billion, above our target of $165 billion. For the first time in our history, we have received over 1 percent of global trade. This uptrend continues in 2021.”
“February export state of affairs is also very positive”
Gülle emphasized that in January, they improved the January record, which was broken last year, with an increase of 2 percent and left behind with exports of 15 billion 48 million dollars. Gülle, “Our exports are going very well this month. In these achievements, the success, innovation, and diligence of our export family has been decisive. In a period of panic, where almost the whole world stops, as the export family, with our strong and prepared infrastructure, we quickly adapted to the sudden digital transformation. Since May, we have organized 50 Virtual Trade Delegations and 8 virtual fairs in 49 countries. We organized Virtual Award Ceremonies.” he said.
Exports of 3 billion 774 million dollars despite pandemic in 2020
Stating that the first virtual jewelry event of Türkiye will be one of the organizations that reveals the innovative identity of the export family during the pandemic period, Gülle said: “With the J-Box live jewelry presentation box innovation, guests will have the opportunity to examine the products in the virtual environment with HD quality. More than 250 purchasing experts from around the world will meet with more than 50 Turkish exporters on the digital platform. With this fair, we see that our jewelry industry has put forward an important vision. Our export in our jewelry sector reached 3 billion 774 million dollars in 2020 despite the pandemic. We saw monthly increases of 160 percent in October 2020, 61 percent in June, and over 50 percent in February. Even though there were significant declines in the first wave of the pandemic, we closed the year at a good level with the efforts of our export family."

Noting that in January, jewelry sector exports increased by 13.4 percent compared to the same month last year, taking a 2.5 percent share of exports and reaching $331 million, Gülle, “We trust our Jewelry sector” he said.
