Highest Increase in Exports of the Last 13 Months

Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) announced export figures of September with a press release which held in Antalya. Exports increased by 22,6% in September compared to the same month last year and reached 14.5 billion dollars; breaking the monthly export record for September. Also this month, the highest increase in exports of the last 13 months was experienced. Exports grew by 7 percent to 123,1 billion dollars in the first 9 months of the year and exports in the last 12 months increased by 7,6 percent to 165,1 billion dollars.

TIM Chairman Ismail Gülle commented on the monthly facts: We achieved the highest monthly exports in September. We have also realized the highest increase in exports of the last 13 months. 2018 is being a “year of records” as we expected, I would like to congratulate all of our exporters for making us happy by continuing this success in September.

The Second Highest Export Figures on Quantitative Basis

On Quantitative Basis, export increased by 31,1 percent in the same period of last year and reached 11.2 million tons which is the second highest export amount so far.

Automotive Sector Maintained its Leadership

In September, automotive was the leading sector with $2.6 billion dollars. The sector's exports increased by 21,3 percent compared to the same month of the previous year. Automotive was followed by chemicals with 1,5 billion dollars and apparel with $1,4 billion dollars. The highest increase in exports took place in Jewellery sector with 154% while steel placed second with 95% and dried fruits had the third place with 65%.

Germany Kept Its First Place

Turkey's exports to 172 countries and regions increased in September. Germany is in the first place with 1,4 billion dollars. Germany was followed by UK with 1,1 billion dollars, Italia with 825 million dollars and Iraq with 722 million dollars.


Exports to the Far East increased by 100 percent

Compared to the same month of the previous year; Exports to the EU increased by 24,7 percent and reached 7,3 billion dollars. The share of EU in Turkey's exports is 51 percent. 80 percent increase in exports to the Far East drew attention.


The best performance in increase was in Osmaniye

Top five provinces in exports were; Istanbul with 6,2 billion dollars, Kocaeli with $1.3 billion dollars, Bursa with 1.1 billion dollars, İzmir with 832 million dollars and Ankara with $646 million dollars. The highest increase in exports was achieved by Osmaniye with 690 percent. Also in September, 1277 firms joined the export community for the first time.

The share of exports made with TL attract notice
In September 5,2 billion TL worth of exports made with Turkish Lira. Turkish Lisa used as a currency while trading with 173 countries. The share of exports made with TL in Turkey's exports is 5,6.
