Gulle: “Contribution of Net Exports will support our growth in 2018 and 2019”

TIM chairman Ismail Gulle evaluated the “New Economic Program” announced by Berat Albayrak, Minister of Treasure and Finance.

“The growth forecast are revised in a realistic way. Despite the cut for 2019 growth rates, I am positive. I know that we will get through these hard times with raising our exports.” Said İsmail Gülle.

As Turkish Exporters Assembly, we have contributed the preparation of the “New Economic Program”. And we are happy to hear that our government will give an extra attention to raise our export figures in the program. This year our target is to surpass $170 billion in exports, and we promise to catch up the target in 2019, which is $182 billion.

Gulle added as: “Slowdown in domestic demand negatively affected our growth rate in 2nd quarter of 2018. As a result we are going to experience lower growth in the 1st quarter of 2019. However, the way out of this turmoil is to raise our exports. I believe net exports' contribution to growth will be positive in 2018 and 2019.”

TIM Supports Investments to Value Added Products”

“As the exporters of Turkey, we should be carrying the burden to improve our economy. As TIM we always underline that exporting value added products is the best strategy to reach sustainable growth and lower current account deficit. Therefore, policies like, restoring the incentives through exports, targeting new markets with new products, investing on high tech, energy, chemicals and pharmaceuticals are promising policies to restore the trust among our market.” He said.
