Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) Chairman İsmail Gülle assessed the year 2018, and announced the forecasts and the agenda for 2019. The Chairman said; “In the shadow of a global trade war, we spent a difficult year in 2018. In this period, a tension that culminated in August with the USA, which is one of Turkey's most important strategic partners and long-standing allies, followed by a new diplomatic era and a rapid improvement in relations. Despite all the global tension, Turkish exporters completed the year with a record in 2018. For the heroes of 2019 -the Turkish exporters- in global trade, 2019 will be the year of sustainability and Innovation.”

Gülle also said, “Now we should focus not only on the export figures but on the sustained momentum of our export volume. This will be achieved by focusing on R&D and design projects while increasing our support for domestic and national production in products with high import inputs. We have to show the world that Turkey's success in exports is persistent with our new projects and investments. In this sense, we will focus on branding, design and R&D, as well as the development of service exports, especially in the field of software.”
