Speaking at İstanbul Fashion Connection and Fashion Fair, TİM Chairman İsmail Gülle said, “In January, we set records in both our general and sectoral exports. We have big goals for the end of the year. We aim for 23 billion dollars in Ready-to-Wear and 250 billion dollars in our total export. I believe that in the new period, Türkiye will rise with export; export with the designs of our fashion designers.”
İsmail Gülle, the chairman of Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM), the only umbrella organization of more than 100,000 exporters with 27 sectors and 61 Exporters' Association, made a speech at the İstanbul Fashion Connection ready-to-wear and Fashion Fair, that Trade Minister Mr. Mehmet Muş and Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank attended. TİM chairman İsmail Gülle, who said they were happy to be at the İstanbul Fashion Connection Ready-to-Wear and Fashion Fair, started his speech by quoting Nacip Fazıl Kısakürek's poem 'My Dear İstanbul'.

Stating that İstanbul has been a city that has inspired all fashion and fashionistas throughout history, İsmail Gülle said, "However, İstanbul is not only a fashion city but also fashion itself. Our Ready-to-Wear sector is a very important flag bearer reflecting this identity of İstanbul.”
Türkiye Will Rise with Value-Added Export
İsmail Gülle stated that they have always emphasized that Türkiye will rise with value-added export, “Fashion is coming first among sole elements that will provide this added value. Reading the needs of the new era well in the world, The Turkish fashion industry continues to add value to our country with its quality and production experience. As Turkish Exporters, we continue to add value to our country and support them wholeheartedly. I believe that in the new period, Türkiye will rise with export; with the designs of our fashion designers also export will rise.”
Stating that the ready-to-wear sector set a record on a sectoral basis by bringing its export to $20.3 billion with an increase of 18 percent compared to the previous year, Gülle said that behind this success, there are hard work and the success of fulfilling the orders on time under all conditions. Gülle continued, “During this period, our country evaluated the breakage in global supply chains very successfully. Behind these achievements, there is a lot of work we carry out during the pandemic. Behind this progress, there is our success in not making any of our customers a victim, regardless of the circumstances, and in delivering all our orders on time.”
Upward Momentum Continues in 2022
TİM Chairman İsmail Gülle said that they added $24 billion add value to their existing export last year and received an additional $24 billion in orders, adding that the increase in our exports will continue in 2022. “In 2021, we added $24 billion-plus value to our existing exports. We have received an additional $24 billion in orders. Our ready-to-wear sector has also received an extra $2.5 billion in orders from these developments in supply chains. The upward momentum in our exports continues in 2022.”
We Have Set Records in Both General and Sectoral Exports
İsmail Gülle said that they set records in general and sectoral exports in the last month, adding that they aimed for 23 billion dollars in ready-to-wear and 250 billion dollars in total exports. “In January, we set records in both general and sectoral exports. 17.6 billion dollars in our general exports; In our apparel sector, we have exported 1.6 billion dollars. We have big goals for the end of the year. We aim for 23 billion dollars in ready-to-wear and 250 billion dollars in our total exports."
