Turkish Textile, Ready-to-wear, and Jewelry Sectors Are On Four Continents

TİM AND TTG CHAIRMAN GÜLLE: WE INTRODUCE OUR VALUES TO THE WORLD

Türkiye Promotion Group (TTG), which operates within the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) to increase the worldwide awareness of Turkish export products and sectors, has collaborated with BBC World News. As part of this collaboration, BBC World News has produced 3 documentary productions on Textile&Jewelry, Food&Agriculture, and Innovation&Technology. Türkiye's export products will be introduced through the films to the BBC's nearly 1 billion viewers on 4 continents.

TİM and TTG Chairman İsmail Gülle said, "As our export increase, we carry our targets further. Now, we have an ambitious goal of reaching $300 billion by 2026. To achieve these goals, every promotional work carried out both in the sector and within the brand 'Made in Türkiye' is very important. We have accelerated our promotional activities in countries where our export has a high market share, as well as in emerging markets. We introduce the values of our country to the world."

Despite the pandemic, Türkiye closed 2020 with record export and carried this momentum to 2021. Export has exceeded $212 billion in the last 12 months. The architects of the historical records became Turkish exporters who quickly adapted to the new conditions brought on by the global pandemic. Textiles, Apparel, and Jewelry, which are among the sectors that have a large share in this success, also play an important role in international trade. The Turkish textile sector is the fifth largest exporter of the world with a four percent share in global export. It is no different in the Jewelry industry. Türkiye is among the top ten countries in the world in gold jewelry production.

Close to 1 billion viewers will be reached

Türkiye Promotion Group (TTG), which operates within the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) to increase the worldwide awareness of Turkish export products and sectors, has taken action to draw attention to the rise of these three sectors. In this context, we cooperated with BBC World News. BBC World News teams, which reached nearly 1 billion viewers in Europe, North America, Latin America, Africa, Asia Pacific, Middle East, South Asia, prepared three documentary productions on Textile & Jewelry, Food&Agriculture, and Innovation&Technology.

From the first civilizations to the present day

The first film about the textile, apparel, and jewelry industry, which was completed, met with BBC World News viewers. In the first film, Türkiye's story from the strong design heritage to the early civilizations of Anatolia, the opportunities offered by our country (production infrastructure, experience, resources), and the rise of young entrepreneurs on the world fashion scene were explained. The films will continue to be available until January next year.

"Promotions are very important for our export"

Stating that they continue to implement all global communication projects in terms of promoting export sectors and products in target markets with Türkiye Promotion Group, TİM and TTG Chairman İsmail Gülle said, "As our export increase, we carry our targets further. Now, we have an ambitious goal of reaching $300 billion by 2026. To achieve these goals, every promotional work carried out both in the sector and within the brand 'Made in Türkiye' is very important. Especially after the pandemic, the transformation of global supply chains provided an important opportunity for our country. To evaluate this situation well, we have accelerated our promotional activities both in countries where our export already has high market share and in emerging markets. We introduce the values of our country to the world. The project we carried out with BBC World News is a product of our work."
