Stop the Raids That Damage the Country's Image

The Machinery Fair, which was held at the Istanbul Expo Center between 17-20 March, with 224 foreign companies and visitors from abroad, was raided by Bakırköy Municipality under the name of 'audit', on its opening day.

Also, in January, Bakırköy Municipality raided the largest furniture fair in Europe, which was held at the Istanbul World Trade Center, and took action that was extremely negative for our country's image.

Due to the police raid, the official opening program, which included the heads of trade groups from Germany, the Netherlands, Qatar, and Oman, and the speakers of the delegations from many foreign countries, could not be held.

As Turkish Exporters Assembly, which is the only umbrella organization of more than 100 thousand exporters, we condemn this raid against our selfless exporters, who work day and night for the increase of our export and the development of our country, at such an important international fair at a time when we are making history in our export. In addition, such cases in the organization where we host an international trade event also cause great damage to the image of the country.

On behalf of our more than 100 thousand exporters, we hope that this tragic incident, which was carried out by the Bakırköy Municipality against the selfless exporters of the Republic of Türkiye, will not be repeated.
